Disney Day

I'm not sure who's more excited about our day at Disney tomorrow, the adults or the kids. We're starting out at the Animal Kingdom, which none of us have ever been to. Then we will work our way to the Magic Kingdom. It's funny, living here you'd think the novelty would wear off. I mean, we drive through the Disney property like once a week it seems. We've been to Downtown Disney a countless number of times. The souvenir shops are EVERYWHERE. We've ridden the monorail without going into the park like at least a dozen times because to a toddler, that's JUST as exciting! And it's FREE! But it's still truly a magical place to me. I'm not sure it will ever wear off. At least I hope it never does. I'm plum giddy from my head to my toes! Now some of the natives would beg to differ. My friend, Kristi, HATES Disney. We went to the movies one night at Pleasure Island in Downtown Disney and pulling into the parking lot, she sighed and said, "Oh, I HATE DisneyWorld!" She then had to pick me up off the ground as I collapsed in total disbelief that anyone would utter such an absurdity. Is that a word?

Anyways, oh did I mention I'm going to DisneyWorld tomorrow?

Did I mention it's FREE?

Did I mention I'm slightly giddy and may just be too excited to sleep tonight?

Do I even have to say "Many pictures to follow?" Like DUH!

Okay...Animal Kingdom...here are some things you HAVE to do:

See the Lion King SHOW!! MUST!!!

Ride the Safari ride.

Go to the Petting zoo. You have to take a train ride to get there, but it's really nice for the kids.

Bugz Life is scary. :)

Go to Dino Land - it is really fun for the kids, too! DO NOT ride the DINO ride - terrifying. Your kids are probably too small anyway.

Also, by the Lion King show, ALL the characters sign autographs so bring your camera and your books.

If anyone of you can ride the river rapids, you should. It's fun, but you will get soaked. Ashton is probably too small.

Have a great day. You could spend ALL day just at Animal Kingdom alone. Wish I could go, but thankful that God has put me here.

Thanks for the all the into Jess! There have also been lots of billboards for the new Nemo Adventure at Animal Kingdom. It's supposed to be way cool. Did you do that before you left?

I am so jealous, I wish I could go. Maybe next time I come for a visit we can have at least one day at Disney. Even this Granny enjoys being a kid sometimes. Hope you had a GREAT time!!!

mom and dad went to disney for their after they got married trip and mom wanted to let you know 'bout the parks she likes...

"Animal Kingdom was really not filled in relative to the other parks (relatively longer walks between rides) so keep that in mind.

Bugs Life is really scary! Like way worse than Honey I Shrunk the Audience interactive scary!

Dino Ride is great...if you're over 15...If your hubby wants to go, fastpass it and then baby swap.

Lion King show ROCKS!!! Like way much...

Kilimanjaro Safari is good too!

I love Disney World and can't wait to take Chris when he's old enough (DH says none of the children can be in diapers, that way they might remember it...so not this year.)"

gosh...mom sure talks lots...
have fun and say hi to mickey! and picturements!
lots of picturements!

That wasn't open yet, but I'm sure it's great. Also, the new roller coaster is great, but one of you will have to sit with the kids while the other one rides. They do "child swap" so just ask the person at that ride about it. It is a COOL roller coaster. Have fun!

oh yes, you will have to do a lot of walking and the rides are VERY spread out. it's not like MK where everything is close together. But follow the map and walk, walk, walk and you will find A LOT of very cool, very fun stuff.

Have fun guys!! I haven't been to Disney since I was 7 or 8 years old. I can't wait to see all your pictures. I see that my darling nephew left a message telling you all about his mom and daddy's trip after they got married. Maybe hubby and I will go before we have kids - not that that is anytime soon. Who knows but can't wait for the pics!!!

This KRISTI really LOVES Disneyworld and Disneyland. Once we went and skipped Animal Kingdom thinking we wouldn't have time and it was probably just a glorified zoo...we late went on another trip and we found out we were wrong to think that...it is great. EVERYTHING Disney is great!!! I love riding the monoraiL, too. Disneyland is smaller, but great if you have smaller kids. So we like both DL & WDW.

Reading your post makes me think of the magic there...the characters, the castle, the rides, the music, the food....I could go on and on. Most of all the magic....I can't describe it. You feel it as soon as you arrive...like no other place you go to. I look at our Disney scrapbooks and feel that magic when I see our pictures.

I like taking our kids and watching their faces as they experience the magic....I think every kid should get to experience that at least one time in their life!

Have a great time and remember you friends in Texas are suffering while you are enjoying yourselves at DISNEY!!!

PHAMS are right....

Lion King show is awesome!

I like the Dino rollercoaster - Primevial Whirl.

The train is great.

The Kilamajaro Safari is super duper!

I am just dying to go back and ride Mount Everest....I love roller coasters! The Yeti!

Oh, stop it....you are making me drool all over my mac thinking about Animal Kingdom. Can't Cary find Bennet a job there and I could be a Registered Nurse at WDW? Just Kidding! Ian does ask his daily three year old question...."When are we going back to Disneyland?" He remembers the trip a year ago and asks at least once a day....so we are planning a trip next year.

Seriously, have a great time and take pics!
